About us
4B Harm Reduction Society (4BHRS) resides in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Beaver Hills House/The City of Edmonton). Our work revolves around collective resistance against the deadly consequences of stigma and disinformed drug policies, through solidarity, education and radical empathy.
Our group started out in 2019 as a response to the ever increasing disparities faced by drug users of ‘working class’ and ‘street’ drugs alike. Drugs are not a moral issue but do become a mortal one when drug users are deemed disposable by policy makers and the unfazed masses.
The need for our group is a direct consequence of governmental negligence and malice. Our society is littered with policies that continue to erode the few science backed, harm reduction based, healthcare supports that we have. What was once cracks are now sinkholes and band-aids have never been a feasible solution. As long as our government avoids doing their job, people will continue to suffer.
We refuse to stand idly by.
